The Community Care-a-Van provides transportation to patients unable to get to their medical appointments. Last year, we provided 2,038 round trips to local patients in need, at a cost of $22.42 per patient. Below we’ve published some additional information on how your kind donations help us help the community.

The Care-a-Van’s expenses are primarily for the hourly wages of the part time drivers, fuel, and maintenance of the vans. Office space and supplies are donated. Other services and statistical reporting functions are performed by volunteers. There are five unpaid members of the board of directors. As a non-profit, the Care-a-Van’s income is very dependent on donations from clients, doctors, healthcare facilities, the counties and cities served, and the United Way.
